Perspiration Pals 12 February 2025

Hello there, Pals! How are you today? I haven’t talked to you in ages (that’s what it feels like anyway). I’m not doing too well. My left elbow has conked out again and my body has been tormenting me for the past 2 years. Now I have symptoms that could turn out to be something serious. I don’t know yet but I have an appointment with a specialist. Anyway, I hope you’re doing well and are able to do strength training because right now I’m not… I started a bodyweight program today and I’m going to work on my push-ups again to take my mind off any problems I have.

Let’s move on to something a lot more interesting though. Have you ever wondered how an ant measure distance? I think they would use the metric system… just saying. Anyway, ants never seem to get lost. They are able to keep track of the Sun, so they know which direction they’re facing. Scientists think that if their stride length is constant, ants might be able to count their steps when moving around and then calculate the distance they’ve covered. Of course there was an experiment. Do you know what scientists did? They set up a nest and put some ants on stilts.. I have no idea how it was possible, though. So the ants on stilts had longer legs and therefor took longer strides. When the took their usual number of steps back to the nest, they overshot it. I’d like to spend ‘a day in the office’ with these scientists.

All right, Pals, I need to go now, have an easy day and look at this sky pic I took yesterday.
