We have successfully rolled out the Beta player updates to the default Ads-Free player. It includes behind-the-scenes changes to improving loading time and playback stability.
15% improved loading time
Reduced buffering and re-buffering time (improved adaptive bitrate)
New playback speed control (0.5x - 2x speed)
Designed for modern browsers, removing support for legacy browsers, please see the updated Video System Requirements
Please note there are a few bugs that our Ads-Free player partner is working to resolve related to casting.
For Chromecast, if you cast, disconnect, then re-cast again, an error screen will appear. Refresh the page to clear the error and cast again.
Currently the remote for Chromecast with Google TV is not supported, but we have a feature request with our Ads-Free player partner.
For AirPlay, the AirPlay icon disappears when casting. Although it is not visible, it is still there and can be clicked or tapped to stop casting.
Please see the updated Casting FAQs for supported devices.
Legacy Devices
For users with older devices or legacy Chromecast dongles, we’ll keep the Ads Free Legacy player option available under your Video Player Preferences so you can continue using the previous player. Please note that Chromecast is unable to pause with the Legacy player.
Other Updates
This release also includes a few minor bug fixes and changes:
Fixed an issue when merging a secondary account (or social account) and custom workouts did not transfer correctly
Default password requirements have increased to 12 characters
