Renegade Rows

Just completed day 23 of the FB Kickstart challenge and I have to admit absolutely dread it whenever renegade rows come up because they hurt my palms so much. I've tried swapping from powerblocks to neoprene hexagon weights and it's not much better. Does anyone have any tricks? I've tried putting the weights on the floor and just picking them up (alternating sides) but it's sort it clunky feeling. Does the discomfort eventually get better?
