Strength and cardio provide a solid training foundation for the New Year. With that, this week is still a mixture of strength and cardio with a little greater emphasis on the cardio! Workouts range from 37 and 46 minutes, and you’ll be seeing Erica, Brian, Tasha, Nicole, and Patrice on the screen.
I kick us off with some Upper Body HIIT Cardio and Strength Sandwiches. Aside from sandwiches to make things exciting, we also take a fun "red light green light" approach to the low impact HIIT cardio moves. Throughout these longer cardio intervals, when I randomly call out "red light" that means stop for a breather, and when I call out "green light" that's your cue to start back up again. Remember that low impact does not equal low intensity! Amidst these cardio moves, there are strength training intervals for the upper body. Overall, you'll develop muscle endurance, strength, and an increased cardiovascular capacity with this routine.
