HKS (Healthy, Kind Support) Accountability Group September 28th
Good last September Saturday! How we got here, I don’t know, this month was a blur.
What is on your calendar (exercise calendar, social calendar, or otherwise) for today? I hope that Alina will have a great time at the wedding she’s attending. And wishing great success to Ashley on passing her citizenship test today!
It will be the same Saturday routine for me today. Going grocery shopping early, doing some laundry and chores, catching up on series. But I don’t think that we’ll do movie night tonight, since David was intent on watching Inside Out 2 last night, and he’s going to a movie theatre with a friend this afternoon to watch Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.
The plan for me is to do the next-to-last workout from the 2-week challenge while he’s away. And for us to go on a longer walk later this morning or when he comes back from the movies.
I’ve been reading an interesting book called Outlive by Peter Attia. The premise is how medicine needs to shift towards doing more early prevention rather than just trying to cure diseases when it’s often too late. The author talks about what research is being done and attempting a mind shift towards very early prevention. He talks about four major causes of health-related deaths: cardiovascular diseases, cancer, Alzheimer and dementia, and diabetes. I’m hoping to gain some insights when I get to the chapters on diabetes, to convince David to take his pre-diabetes seriously, before it’s too late.
Time to get this day slowly started. Enjoy a great weekend everyone! 🙂
