HKS (Healthy, Kind Support) Accountability Group July 15th πͺπ§βπΎ
Hello everyone, welcome to the start of another week! I'm on summer schedule, and for July it's Mondays off for me, which gets me off to a most agreeable start. Yesterday I spent 6 hours gardening, including 3 hours sifting compost, which counts as total body strength, in my book! πͺπ§βπΎ I hadn't dug down to the bottom of the composter in a couple of years, so the lowest part has got roots growing up in to it -- even trees several feet away will find their way to a compost bin, for the nourishment it offers. I dug out some of the matted roots, but if I wanted to clear it all out, I'd have to empty the whole bin and move it, which will require cooler and nicer temperatures than the 29C "feels like 37C" I was working in.
The good news is that my neck is just fine, even though I worked my back very hard today and slept on my new pillow. I really didn't want the πππ pillow to be the problem π€£ So, I've learned my lesson. Poor form is dangerous! I'll remind myself not to work out when I'm pressed for time or impatient, or just swap for something shorter! Found a quote for that:
"The most important muscle for fitness success is patience." (Alex Elsberry)
I like this thought because it applies both to how you work out, and how you judge the results.
This morning I started the "Move better with Kayla" challenge. I hope I was kind enough to my scapula, I remember those hurting last time I did her foundational UB workout. Time will tell! Now it's time for me to get my errands done -- I need to get groceries this morning and come back quickly as I am expecting a delivery this afternoon and my beloved will be working downtown so it's on me to be at home! Gives me the opportunity to do that laundry, I guess. I said this was a "day off"? Maybe more of an extra day for my weekend pursuits π
So, what's up with you lovely folks? All you staycation folks, are you staying cool? Julia, do you have a bit more time to recover from travelling before you return to work?
Wishing everyone a brilliant Monday!
Edited to add a picture of high summer: rudbeckias with flowering oregano. The pollinators are happy!
