Mismatched exercise abilities

This may sound rather self-indulgent, so please excuse me, but I’m in need of some mental clarity and support.

I used to have a job where I walked (sometimes walked/ran) for around 90 minutes a day, plus had time for an hour’s workout, six times a week. I did that for years.

I’m now training to be a vet nurse (roughly equivalent to a vet tech, for American users), which means I can be on my feet for eight hours plus a day. There’s wrangling uncooperative animals, a lot of lifting, bending and twisting, a lot of scrubbing… I sometimes get home physically exhausted. Added to that, I spend one day a week at college - easier physically, but not mentally - and am expected to study independently, prepare for exams and assignments etc. I love it, but it’s hard work. I now struggle to work out five times a week, and they tend to be shorter duration (30-45 mins during the week, longer at weekends).

Meanwhile my husband does his own thing. He enjoys running, which I never really have, and has started working up to half marathon distances, which he does once or twice a month. On top of that his workouts always sound brutal.

I feel utterly worthless by comparison. He never tries to make me feel inadequate, but I can’t help but feel that I’m deficient, physically. I can match or exceed Tasha’s weights for pretty much every exercise (not reverse flies - the woman’s a beast), but because I can’t run for miles, and sometimes have to have an extra rest day, I feel that I’m achieving nothing.

Stupidly long post; I’m sorry. Anyone have any words of wisdom?
