Week 1 of Build with Tasha 10-Day Challenge

Good morning FB Family!

Here's a roundup of Week 1 of my 10-day challenge, Build with Tasha, which comes out on Sunday, June 2! During these first five days of training, we’re laying the groundwork for testing your strength even further during the second half of the challenge.

This challenge focuses on heavy lifting interspersed with targeted core/balance active recovery workouts by relying on the tenets of progressive overload; intentionally and incrementally demanding more work from the muscles with small tweaks to training variables will safely elicit increases in strength. In this first week of training, we vary the working intervals in the first two heavy lifting workouts to encourage heavier weight selections. That is, as the work intervals decrease, your weight choices should (theoretically) increase!

Each week contains an upper body, lower body, and total body combination moves strength routine. You’ll lift your heaviest during the upper and lower body workouts and rely on perceived exertion to determine what your challenging weight loads look like for the total body routine (which includes 60-second work intervals to train for a muscle strength-endurance combo). The two bodyweight core/balance routines will still challenge you while allowing for some respite from the deep muscle burn of the weightlifting workouts.

Week 1 – Let’s peek at your first week of training!

The workouts in this challenge trend more towards the intermediate/advanced exerciser, thus experience with consistent strength training is a plus! However, modifications and alternatives are offered during each workout to make the routines accessible to as many folks as possible.

Check in here throughout the week to ask questions, share your progress and thoughts with the rest of the FB Family, or even provide snarky comments to my many personas (Stagehand Tasha, Little Tasha…there’s probably too many to list, haha).

Excited to see you on the screen soon!
