Week 1 of the 10-Day Barre and Strength Training Fusion Challenge

Good Morning, FB fam!

We’re off to the races with our 10-day Barre and Strength Training Fusion Challenge! Supplementing your weight training efforts with barre is a great way to develop strength and stability in smaller more underused muscle groups to support your overall performance. It also develops strength in ways that may not be as consistent in heavier weight training: pulsing/isometrics, functional strength (coordinating several muscle groups to work in tandem), new positioning/ranges of motion, etc.

Most of the workouts will incorporate elements of traditional strength training and barre training as opposed to one workout focusing on strength, the other on barre, etc. I really enjoyed the roles each of these training types played throughout each workout!

WEEK 1 - an average of 42.4 minutes/day with an average difficulty of 3.2

Days 1 & 2 complement one another as we focus on the lower body and then the upper body, using the same formatting. Days 3, 4, and 5 take on more of a total body theme whether it be cardio, strength, or mobility/stretching focused. There will be plenty of variety and engagement from either the exercises themselves or the mental focus it takes to coordinate mind and body. I encourage you to keep an open mind at what this 10-day experience will bring for you and be patient in the places that may not come as natural right away - that’s all part of the experience! 🌱

I’ll be here for you by checking in on this post throughout the week and taking a look at your comments on the workouts.

I look forward to connecting and hearing about your experience!
