I've avoided single weight workouts for a long time but I finally figured out how great they are for pushing myself to lift heavier. It's one side only and only 30 seconds, in Amanda's words "We can do hard things".
Ok, moving on to links. I was lacing my shoes the other day before going grocery shopping and thought to myself, in English,"Let's proceed". I then said the same thing in Romanian: "Să purcedem". And then it hit me: "Are these words related?". Side note, looking up word etymology counts as fun in my house.
Anyway, yes, both these words come from the Latin "procedere". I thus fell into a rabbit hole of watching videos about comparative language analysis and Proto Indo European reconstruction. I bring you this video about how we know proto languages even existed:

It's a very interesting and relaxing channel. My main takeaway has been that I'm completely tone deaf and incapable of hearing subtle differences between phonemes. Lucky me, I don't need to learn a tonal language like Mandarin or Vietnamese, right? Wrong, muhahaha, I have set a trap. There are arguments to be made that English is in fact a tonal language:

Moving on to slightly less nerdy topics, is anyone going to see the new Napoleon movie? I have a strong dislike for Joaquin Phoenix so you couldn't pay me but I did find this video about one of Napoleon's favorite dishes quite fascinating. Spoiler, he was afraid of eating green beans in case he would find a string and get too disgusted to eat them:

Ok, finally, for good behavior, have a very adorable, squishy cat:

The meme is of course based on last week's discussion about taking the Tardis to help Adrienne with her leftover pie.
