For those of you who want to show your core and pelvic floor some extra love before a workout, that’s what I have in store for today’s release!

Warm-Up for Deep Core and Pelvic Floor Activation

The request has popped up a few times for a short series that can be done prior to a workout to prep the core and pelvic floor. As a pre/postnatal specialist and a mom of 2, this is something I do prior to every workout in order to support optimal core function, so I am excited to bring it to life for you too!

Doing a series like this is great for pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond. I truly think “once postpartum, always postpartum” which really means that ongoing care for our core and pelvic floor to maintain function is SO important for the female body at any age.

This routine includes 5 exercises — a combination of breathing and movement — to activate the deepest layer of your abdominals as well as pelvic floor. They work as a unit to support you and your breath is your most powerful tool to get them to work together. So, we’ll take a few minutes to connect to our breath and core in order to get them functioning more optimally in your upcoming workout! 

All it takes is a couple minutes. I encourage you to try this and memorize the simple exercises so you can do them prior to other workouts!
