HKS (Healthy, Kind Support) Accountability Group March 11th
Good Saturday morning!
Time is springing forward 1 hour tonight, for Daylight Savings Time. Though I am very much looking forward to extra daylight at the end of the day, I am not looking forward to losing an hour of sleep.
This should be a sunny day, so we will go walking, after taking care of the usual Saturday morning grocery run. My company is putting on an Amazing Race challenge again in April, so I have to gradually start walking more and more, to work up to the distances they want us to cover each week. Hopefully, they will take into account our feedback from last year, where the distances became unachievable by week 4. Now that sidewalks are mostly dry and I don’t have to wear my crampons, I can walk confidently again.
I attended a virtual presentation from women leaders in our company on Wednesday, for International Women’s Day. Their stories and insights were very inspirational and powerful, and one of them mentioned the quote above, which really resonated with me. “You have time for what you make time for.”
So I have decided to make time again for walking each day. And to continue to make time to work out. And to keep making time to cook healthy meals each day. And to make time to read books again, after “slacking off” for the past few weeks. And to make time to do 10 minutes of cleaning up each day, so there’s less to do on the weekends. And to make time for a better skin care routine in the evenings. Etc.
It just made me realize that I have all of this time and I am not using it. Sure, making time to be idle and doing nothing is also very important, but time is too precious to be idle all of the time.
And what will you be making time for today?
I have used enough of your time already, and have used the word “time” enough in one post to last a lifetime 😂, so time to get on with our day and enjoy a great one! 🙂
