New Article: How to Promote a Positive Body Image in your Child(ren)

All of us, even adults, receive constant messaging regarding body norms and ideals. None of us is immune to the pressures placed upon us by society to look a particular way. These pressures, values, and norms shape how we see ourselves and can contribute to struggles with food and exercise throughout our lives. Now, imagine navigating this journey as a child or adolescent before your brain is even fully developed (I imagine many of you remember what this was like). 

At the same time, when people do critique messaging about bodies and body image, it is often framed only as a critique or what not to do. This leaves many people wondering what they should or could do instead. This article covers tips geared primarily toward parents on ways to help promote a positive body image for your children. However, it can also be helpful for anyone who is around and has relationships with children. 

I am also curious what things you all have tried with your children or things that were helpful for you as children with your developing body image.
