HKS (Healthy, Kind Support) Accountability Group July 22th
Hi everyone.
Wishing you a happy Thursday from a relaxed atmosphere here: a party with music for kids somewhere that started around 8 AM, with the addition of hammering as there is a building site nearby. Apparently Thursday is party day here in July! I should start my own, but I’m having a slew of lethargic days – warm weather + too much stress = me not doing much when I’m left to my own devices.
“When a woman becomes her own best friend life is easier.” – Diane von Furstenberg
This feels like a very Maria quote (and I hope this one hasn’t been used recently), and I thought it was a nice thought for today.
I did the energy-boosting cardio jumpstart and the sweaty 16-minute butt & thigh workout, followed by that annoying but practical 10-minute standing abs workout by another fitness channel (it’s the only non-yoga workout I ever do outside of FB). With the sound off! 🧐 That was my first workout this week apart from walking, cycling and… you guessed it, yoga.
Yesterday I had Chinese with my parents, brother and sister-in-law at the hospice. My dad seems sort of stable. When I came home, I opened my laptop right away to do some stretching and deep breathing. I have been prescribed (more) pills to help with stress, but as these stay in your system about 8-12 hours and they are meant to numb you, it’s challenging to time when to use one, as most days I’m on my bike 40-60 minutes in total, getting to my dad, and I need to be clear-headed then. I don’t want to end up like the dead mole I encountered on a bike path Tuesday! (Now I get images in my head of a mole on a little bike, getting hit by another animal in a tiny car.)
Anyway! I’d like to wish everyone a good day, whether it’s a super productive or a relaxed one. There are several people who are having troubles right now, so hugs for you. 🌼 We have each other's backs here. Feel free to share your struggles, or something that you're proud of.
Photo of one of my recent walks, hope it gives you all a sense of peace.
