HKS (Healthy, Kind and Support) Accountability Group July 29

Heya sweet folks,

We are already here, the midweek! Time seems to be in a rush, or is it?

First up, I would like to thank each and everyone who came up with their lists yesterday, it certainly put a smile across my face while reading them all, and hopefully on yours too πŸ™‚ To those, who couldn't/didn't participate but were happy to just read through, that's great too πŸ™‚

Mon cahier (notebook) was kind enough to lend me another quote to share: "C'est en retrouvant la nature que l'on retrouve sa vΓ©ritable nature!"/"It is by rediscovering nature that we find our true nature"

So my folks, today's there no Toasty's to-do task 😊 But do I have a story to share? Ah yes of course I do! (Well okay we'll get to the quote soon πŸ™‚)

As part of my PhD training we were given an assignment to reflect on our entire previous life situations to try and understand why we think the way we do? It was an assignment in Epistemology, which can be understood as one's own theory of knowledge. So while I absolutely loathed the assignment, it was mandatory to send a write up. The professor kept sending us back our assignments unsatisfied asking for us to delve deeper. And so we did. I didn't share the actual draft with the professor, but there were a lot of things I didn't realize about myself. For example, I'm more fluent in a language that's not my native language, and maybe that's because I was very close to my grandmother who spoke the other language and that's how I picked love for that language etc... One amusing discovery, I've always always lived in cities with some natural water bodies.. Rivers, oceans, beaches etc, and I've moved cities very frequently. It is true, subconsciously I've always found my way to a riverside, beach etc to feel calmer from within whenever I needed it.

So that's why the picture at the ocean: this is a sunset picture from Cape Town, from last year. There's no sunset that's not magical, me thinks πŸ™‚

So while you check in today, do ponder over why do you think the way you do? What were the positive influences in shaping the wonderful 'you'? πŸ€— And has the nature played any role in shaping your nature? πŸ™‚

Workouts: I've been going pretty slow and low impact, thanks to my back. I did Pulse challenge, some bit and then tried Kelli's new pilates workout. It was awesome! Me likes πŸ‘

Here's sending loads of good vibes your way! πŸ€—

P. S. These check ins are open to all, whenever you feel like, do pop by and say hello! πŸ™‚
