Im really young and need some help

hey, im a really young person (not revealing exact age but im a teen). I need some help with making nutritious choices in an unhealthy culture. Indian food's got a ton of fat and stuff in it, and I kinda have to eat what my mom cooks. Is there any way I can get around this, like by eating more veggies and less of the cooked food at meals?

and also, I've been trying to lose weight for two years and this is literally my last resort. can someone say some inspiring stuff lol to make me not eat so much junk. exercise isn't a problem for me, I'm confident about my exercising abilities despite being 20 lbs overweight. I just got a problem with food. any tips? thanks y'all.
