After working out with FB for many months now (yay!) I realized that the dumbbells I have at home are not always heavy enough to be a real challenge for some of the lower body exercises like squats and deadlifts. I have access to the gym at my university, but I prefer working out at home with FB, especially because the gym is often very crowded. On the schedule for today (FB Burn) was a lower body strength workout with descending reps and increasing weight. I knew my dumbbells weren't going to be enough, so I wrote down the exercises from the video and did it at the gym.
It was great to be able to use heavier weights, and I'm sure I will be feeling it tomorrow. But what kept me from going even heavier was not my lower body at all but my grip strength. My legs were telling me I could do more, but my hands gave up at 50 lbs (25 lbs per hand). And my hands were shaking after and still feel a bit sore even hours later!
Has anyone had this problem and been able to increase their grip strength? Do your hands limit you from exercises that the rest of your body could do?
