Overview

Welcome! This 5-Day Strength, Cardio and Toning Challenge is designed to improve your full-body strength and endurance and reignite motivation for a consistent fitness routine.

Who is this challenge for?
Sometimes our regular fitness routine can feel mundane, may no longer be as challenging and exciting as it once was, or no longer be bringing the results we're seeking. This can result in less consistency and loss of enjoyment in exercise altogether. This challenge is here to reignite your spark and inspiration so you can be getting the most out of your efforts with fitness! Regardless, this challenge is great for those who are simply looking to throw a fun new twist in their workout flow to keep things challenging and exciting. You'll walk away feeling stronger throughout your entire body, more versatile, and refreshed from any ruts. Those who will have the most success with this workout challenge will be beyond a beginner's fitness level, as the workouts are dynamic and require a good amount of proprioception.

What to expect

  • Each day will consist of new workout formats and training styles such as pyramid sets, toning circuits, bored easily, isometrics, and more. These are designed to keep your mind stimulated and your body guessing! As a result, this will allow you to push yourself to new levels and bring a fresh perspective.
  • Workouts are level 3 or 4 in difficulty, however, they can become more or less challenging depending on modifications used, moving at a faster or slower pace, and/or lifting heavier/lighter weights.
  • Any higher-impact exercises will have a low-impact modification shared.
  • Warm-ups and cool-downs are included for each workout and will help increase mobility and flexibility.

What to expect: a bonus!
What’s more, is that this challenge encourages you to go beyond the physical as we tie in how our overall lifestyle plays into our commitment and how we feel toward exercise. For each day of the challenge, I’ve shared a Bonus Healthy Living Challenge that you can find in the daily challenge description. Each day will be a new topic along with a small action you can take to encourage a healthier lifestyle as a whole. See, each part of our life affects every other part of our life. When we are grounded in positive lifestyle choices for ourselves each day, it’s only natural that we will feel inspired in other pockets of life, including our fitness routine. I highly recommend engaging with some or all of this as it holistically brings the challenge full circle, allows you to get the most out of this 5-day experience, and will leave you with positive habits to maintain into the future.

Equipment needed

  • Dumbbells: these are highly encouraged for 3 out of the 5 the workouts. I recommend having a range of weights (or light, medium, and heavy for you). There will be one workout with optional light weights and one that is bodyweight only.
  • Mat — or a carpeted supportive surface for floor exercises.

Taking 5 days and committing yourself to something new can be riveting and, as a result, welcome a whole new perspective when it comes to the relationship you have with fitness and your lifestyle habits as a whole. I can’t wait to see you in the workouts and hear about your experience!
