I thought we could have a little fun today and talk about motivation! Ok, I know, I know, talking about motivation is sometimes like trying to push water up a hill; but let's give it a go anyway! So we all usually have long term motivational goals that we're working towards (i.e. getting healthier, living a longer illness-free life, etc.), and that's great.
But let's be honest: most days, that's probably not enough of a thought to get you moving when you're having a bad day.
So here's my question: as of today, right now, what is motivating you to get up and get moving? What makes you think "no more excuses, let's get it done"? I mean it can be anything really! Could simply be "I know I'll feel better when I'm done" or maybe "I got some awesome new shoes I wanna try"!
So what's motivating you right at this moment? (And take note, this also includes taking rest days as necessary. I know you're thinking, "motivation for rest days"? Yes! Sometimes it is difficult to slow down and rest, so you gotta talk yourself into it too!)
I find that the motivation is the hardest when it comes to day-to-day tasks. And that it changes from day-to-day. So I was just curious as to what you find in your daily routine that helps to keep you consistent?
For me it really does change every single day! But my motivation today is music! It's no secret that I'm a big Halestorm fan, and they released new music last Friday; so I'm super excited that I've got several new kickbox-worthy songs. haha. Yesterday, it was simply telling myself "get it done so you can go do something else." And I did feel better once it was done! So I mean, I have to change tactics from day-to-day in order to keep my motivation "fresh" (if that makes sense). So I was wondering what works for you guys?
Alright, so I know that was a random tangent, but I'd love to hear what your "methods of motivation" are!
Back to the important tasks at hand today: working out or resting?
My #WorkoutCompleteForK&D is gonna be this upper body workout:
I've only done this one once, so I figured it would be a good idea to give it another go!
What about you guys today? What do you have scheduled?
Oh! And we talked about in the last check-in doing a "Workout Party" in a similar fashion as our Pizza Party? Several of you expressed interest, and I'm wondering is that something you'd all be interested in participating in? I know we're all at a different point in our fitness, and some of us are in the middle of doing a program, so it'd have to be something easily modified with plenty of advance notice too. Callie offered the idea of a 1000 Calorie Workout that we all do (it could be modified, and/or broken up into several workouts throughout the week so as to not be so intimidating/time consuming). I'd love to hear your thoughts on that too!
Alright Blenders, thank you for reading ALL of that! haha. I hope you all go out, kick some a$$ and take some names today!
Make it a good one--and as always, thanks for checking in!
