Perspiration Pals 9 April 2025

Hello there, Pals! How are you today? I’m in such a hurry… Surprise, surprise… I have no idea how my working days have turned into such a blur. I keep finding myself crawling into bed every day thinking, ‘what on earth was that about?’ On the bright side, I went to a lecture by one of my favourite astronomers and I really enjoyed it. There was a quiz at the end but I didn’t win anything… I knew all the answers but speed mattered too and I was too slow.

Anyway, I wasn’t too slow in the morning while working out with our Tasha. It was a total body cardio routine so my stupid elbow had a day off but tomorrow the dumbbells come out to play again whether my elbow likes it or not.

Let’s move on to our fact-finder fragment. Have you ever wondered how long it would take for a bottle you toss into the sea to travel around the world? As far as we can tell no bottle has ever travelled around the world and landed back at the place where it was thrown. Most messages in bottles are never found plus there are already huge garbage patches in the oceans so let’s not throw bottles into the sea. However, in 2013 a message in a bottle (start singing) was plucked out of the Baltic by a fisherman, having been launched 101 years earlier. Researchers were able to return the message to the writer’s granddaughter. That’s a nice story, isn’t it?

All right, Pals, that’s it from me today, happy Wednesday to you all.
