Perspiration Pals 19 February 2025

Hi there, Pals! I’ve come out of hibernation to start the thread. It’s a cold but sunshiny day here and surprisingly I’m not in a terrible mood, I don’t want to punch anyone in the throat and the skin on my face is not itching and burning at the same time. (Hopefully, I haven’t jinxed it…) Also, I’m trying not to think about all the other stuff, so far so good.

My elbow is anything but fine so I’m doing a bodyweight program which would be perfect if it didn’t contain several routines requiring dumbbells. I’ve been trying to figure out what might be the reason behind these epicondylitis flare-ups and I think it is to do with my grip. If I want to lift heavy (which I do and can right now) I need a stronger grip or a pair of those wrist bands with hooks… otherwise I don’t think I’ll be able to avoid flare-ups. But enough about me, let’s move on to our fact-finder fragment.

Have you ever wondered if an aeroplane can fly through a rainbow? You probably have better things to do but if you have, here’s the answer. Rainbows are optical illusions that appear when sunlight strikes raindrops at a very precise angle, causing it to split into many different wavelengths and colours. If you change position, you will see a different rainbow to the one you were originally looking at. I you were on the ground looking up, then you might see a plane fly through a rainbow but the people on the plane wouldn’t know as they would be seeing a different rainbow. Also, have you ever wondered why we aren’t allowed to smile in passport photos? You should have a plain expression and your mouth closed because facial recognition software is more effective when people have their mouths closed.

All right, Pals, that’s it from me today I need to go back to work. Have an easy day and don’t forget to look at the Moon at six o’clock in the morning. (random piece of advice)
