HKS (Healthy, Kind Support) Accountability Group January 25th

Good Saturday morning! It’s really cold at the moment here at -21°C/-6°F, but it will significantly warm up by tomorrow. We’re debating going out in this cold this morning to do our grocery shopping, or to wait till tomorrow.

This has been a rough week for me at work. Long and loaded work days to make up for being off last week for our move, and to accommodate training our new colleague. At least my other colleague and I are alternating days. I’ve felt like my mind was overloaded all week, between playing catch up on work and having other requests piling on, and receiving many documents for the house and trying to make sense of it all. All of this left me drained and unable to focus. An overwhelmed brain is not a productive one.

So today, I will take care of my mind. I started last night actually by doing our budget, which was a task that had been nagging at me. Next, I will read through all of the documents that we received and store them in their proper place. Then, I will make a list of things left to buy for the house. And finally, I will go back to making a realistic daily list every morning of what is left to unpack and install in the house. Once my thoughts are organized, it will take the load off my mind and I will be able to enjoy my weekend.

I also need to move, as physical movement helps to clear the mind. David set up our walking pad in an area that does not work for me, so moving it will be on my to-to list today, as one of the keys to keeping up with good habits is to create an environment that works for you. There will be functional fitness involved today, as we’ll finish unpacking and setting up one room entirely. That will also help with my mind, as unfinished work and clutter tend to drive me crazy. And I decided to reschedule the last workout of the 3-Day challenge and start Transform with Erica today. No sense in continually rescheduling that 45-minute core workout with Daniel and failing to complete it. That just gets me down and messes with my mind. I’ve been wanting to do that 2-week challenge from Erica for a long time, so it will give me something to look forward to on my calendar.

For some fun today, we’ll enjoy our first movie night in our home. And after more than a year of having a new television and not being able to connect our sound bar, David figured out that we had to pull open a tab at the back of the tv to plug it in, so we’ll enjoy great sound. The tough part will be to choose a movie from the many that are on our list of must-sees.

What will your day and weekend look like? Any fun activities planned? Enjoy a wonderful day everyone! 🙂
