Good early Saturday morning from our new home!
The move went well yesterday. The company we chose sent a great team of 3 extremely professional and efficient people and everything was done in about 5 hours. It cost less than I had budgeted, which is a bonus.
We started unpacking, trying to find what is most pressing. The bathroom was set up prior to our move, but there were the last items that we had kept at our apartment, like medication. My back and feet were incredibly sore from standing all day, so I had to take pain medicine to be able to sleep. David tested out the therapeutic bathtub and loved how it loosened up his muscles. Maybe I should’ve used it as well. We crashed around 7:30pm while trying to watch a movie on blu-ray, since we don’t have the internet/wifi installed yet.
The technician is coming for that today, but at what time, we don’t know, so we’ll have to stay home until it’s done. David will go out to get us something to eat for breakfast, since our kitchen is not set up yet. I barely ate anything until supper last night, I have to make a conscious effort to eat and drink plenty of water today. Hydration will be very important, since I suffered from cramps in both of my feet last night, but thankfully not at the same time.
I can’t believe that we are now in our own home. We had dreams of owning a house some 10 years ago, but I was too scared to commit. Then the pandemic hit and home prices soared, and we figured we would never be able to afford a house. We had almost given up on our dream until last fall, when we decided to take a leap and see what would happen. And here we are.
Lots more unpacking will happen today. That will be plenty of functional exercise for me. I do have to reign in my drive to want to unpack everything in one day. I hope to go for a walk later, since it feels like I was stuck inside all day yesterday. What will your Saturday entail?
