Hello Pals! How are you all today? Cold, tired, sore, stressed? Cheerful as a chipmunk? I don't know what the regular mood status of chipmunks are. I hope everyone is, at a minimum, maintaining homeostasis.

After yet another hot, sleepless night, I am tired and cranky. So will keep this short.

It has, however, been brought to my attention, that Russian kettlebells are traditionally measured in poody (singular = pood). 1 pood = 16.38 kg or 36.11 lbs. There is a long history of the use of a pood (or pud) as a unit of weight going back hundreds of years, and etymologically it and the English word "pound" share a common root via the Old Norse word "pund". 40 funty make up 1 pood, and 1/96 funt = 1 zolotnik. There are plenty of other obscure, historical, and regional weights to read about on the internet, if that is something that sounds like fun to you. Apparently it sounds like fun to me; I've spent more time on this than I care to admit and it tickles my brain so good.

Good news, my new pjs, which I had to trek through the desert under the scorching sun to reach the post office to obtain, fit. Although the ones I wore last night really don't look great on me. They have little flowers on them, mostly in pinks and oranges, and there isn't much contrast with my skin tone. It would be cute if I was darker. I'm not a big fan of pink or floral prints, but I needed jim-jams and women's clothing is limited to a very few different colour palletes and styles. I would've preferred something green with dinosaurs but mass marketing and the patriarchy said no.

All that to say, the reason I needed new pjs is because I am down several funty from about 1 byerkovyec. I went down a size.

Ok get on topic lady, you said you would keeping it short. Food! I dunno, there is food, the kitchen is a mess, it's too hot, and I'm exhausted. Salad, probably. Likely a smoothie later. Exercise! Too hot to trot dude. I need to cycle to the shop later and buy kitty litter at some point. The shop that sells kitty litter is absolutely packed on the weekends, so if I don't go tonight it'll have to wait until next week.

Come chat.
