Good morning everyone! Also afternoon and evening for some. I'm sad to say it's officially the first day of winter here in the states. We've definitely already been having winter like weather with temps in the 20s and snow blowing here for a bit now. I will gladly start this next countdown of 89 days until spring! Lol.
Food. That's been a hot topic in our household as sugar has become a major food group lately. We've been discussing ways to enjoy, but also balance. We're having burgers for dinner either on or next to a salad. Hubs is going to bake some cookies with the kids today too. We always freeze at least half. Balance, right? What are you guys making or simply partaking in today?
My picture is our advent calendar on this penultimate weekend in December. You didn't think I'd get through this entire check-in without bringing up one of our favorite words did you? 😆 I had one like this growing up, so I replicated it when hubs and I got married. We take turns each night (order chosen at random each year). We've been a little silly this year creating small "scenes' with the ornaments. Gingerbread man in mittens, Santa hat, and skates for example. Lol. It's one of our traditions. Yesterday, Kate shared they celebrate on the solstice every year. So what are some of your holiday traditions this time of year? I know Inge watches LOTR, anything else? As always, feel free to skip. I like learning about all the different ways people celebrate.
Alrighty...I should be off getting started with my day! Please feel free to check-in as much or as little as you'd like! I'm here. Have a nice Saturday!!!

Chilly as it may be, perhaps some movement to warm us up? Continuing a program, 15-20 minutes of anything to get our bodies moving today? Mobility or rest after a long week? I personally have skipped several runs this week and taken to the "lighter" side with a hectic schedule. I'm hoping to get a mile or 2 slowly on the treadmill to loosen myself up and hopefully convince Paige to do this stretch with Kelli and I. https://www.fitnessblender.com/videos/feel-good-active-stretches-and-mobility-work-total-body-mobility-and-flexibility-blend-for-stress?scheduledDate=2024-12-21
