HKS (Healthy, Kind Support) Accountability Group December 14th
Good Saturday morning! We are in the midst of a cold snap here and it’s currently -13°/9°F, but temperatures might go up to +7°C/45°F by Wednesday. I would rather have colder temperatures at this time of year than the see-sawing that we are seeing. Less chance of getting freezing rain if the temperature is well below the freezing point.
I’ll have to work for about an hour this morning. Starting today, the government has removed the federal sales tax on certain products and I have to gather feedback from our stores. I’ll make up time lost from finishing early on Monday.
We have a busy day ahead. First, we’ll get most of the grocery shopping done and out of the way early. Then, we’ll buy what David needs to patch up holes from pictures that were removed at the house. We’ll then move more boxes there and while I clean a bit and unpack what goes in the closets, he’ll patch up the walls. We’ll then choose our paint colours. At the apartment, I want to clear and clean one more area, but that will likely wait till tomorrow.
Funny story from when we fist brought Loki to our new house on Thursday night: there is a mirrored closet in the entryway and when Loki came in, he thought he saw another dog and lunged and barked at this reflection. He’s never done that in front of a mirror, it was so cute!
I’m also trying to catch up on all things Christmas. I finally decided what treats I’ll be making for the boxes that I give my brother and father: cranberries and white chocolate blondies, butter pecan cookies, Oh Henry cookie bars, and sucre à la crème. Since I’ll be seeing my family on the 21st, I’ll be baking Thursday and Friday.
We also have not yet gone to our city’s Christmas market. Hoping to go today at sundown, so I can see the Christmas lights. And I’m way behind on watching Christmas movies and listening to Christmas music. But I’m sure not behind on eating chocolate and Christmas treats. I don’t have a sweet tooth but I could eat all the sweets at this time of year.
I’m hoping to be able to do a workout today, in part of offset all of the extra calories I’m eating. I coughed less this morning, so I’ll give it a try. I won’t go for a walk though, as the cold air still triggers coughing fits.
Ok, this was a very long post, enough about me. What are your plans for the weekend? Doing any good workout you’d like to share? And what’s on the menu?
