Hi there, Pals! How are you today? I liked the story about Felix the cat in Alina’s post yesterday. Imagine training all those conductors for years. Felix is a really resourceful kitty.
It’s a national holiday today so I’m here at home typing away peacefully and feeling slightly better than I usually do nowadays. The weather is too warm… or I’ve completely lost the ability to be cold. My windows are wide open and I’m sweating. But the colours of the trees are lovely.
I started the day by reading and playing with Duolingo in bed. I’ve actually finished reading The Three-Body Problem by Liu Cixin. It’s the first part of a sci-fi trilogy and a colleague of mine and I started reading it because we’re both slightly mad about science. Also, there’s a podcast with three of our most famous physicists/astronomers talking about the trilogy and we want to know what they think about it. Look at me waffling about things instead of talking about exercise.
Let’s talk about exercise. I did Day 3 of Powerful with Tasha. I like being powerful with Tasha but she’s the more powerful of the two of us, that’s for sure. What program/challenge are you doing?
Moving on to our fact-finder fragment, did you know that zombie planets are planets that were thought dead and then found to still have geological activity or atmospheres? Rogue Planets: These are free-floating planets that do not orbit a star and roam the galaxy in darkness. (I might have told you about those before…) Now they definitely know what loneliness is. Bonus fact: In the 19th century, the advent of the sewing machine, patented by Elias Howe and improved by Isaac Singer transformed garment production but also led to the exploitation of workers in sweatshops.
All right, Pals, I need to go now because I promised myself to relax today. So I’ll start by scrubbing the bathtub.
