Hello there, Pals! It’s really late… I’m getting worse at this I know but I’m not doing great. It’s not just my Dad’s illness, it’s everything. The way I feel about myself, various aspects of my life, right now there’s not much I can enjoy, to be honest. Quiero disfrutar el día pero I can’t. As you can see, I’m still learning Spanish with Duolingo and I keep entertaining my colleagues by saying random Spanish sentences. I find it a lot easier to speak Spanish than French because the sounds in Spanish are closer to my first language. For example, they roll their ‘r’s which I find relaxing as opposed to pronouncing ‘r’s in either French or English, as a matter of fact.
Instead of the usual fact-finder fragment, I have some questions to you. For example, do you American Pals use the words ‘chop, chop’ when rushing someone or is it a British expression? Also, is the word ‘chuck’ (to throw something carelessly) mostly used in the UK? And finally, what’s the origin of the word ‘shotgun’ when referring to the passenger seat?
Let’s talk about exercise too. I started doing Level Up With Tasha because I want to stick to strength training. I haven’t been practising push-ups so I might not be able to do as many as I could but it’s fine. I basically proved that it’s possible to make progress if you really put your mind to doing it.
All right, Pals, I need to go now because a colleague of mine has just popped in to ask for help… I’m the fixer apparently. Ivett the Fixer.
