Hello, lovelies, and happy longest Friday of the year! Can’t believe we’re already at the Summer solstice, where is the year going? Are there any midsummer specific to your area? Will link below some details about what happens around these parts. I will definitely buy some Lady’s bedstraw flowers because I love the smell:
I have been pretty absent here lately because my mental energy has been low. I start writing responses sometimes and 5 words in I just lose the energy to do it. It took me until now (2 PM) to think of something to write about. It’s not you guys, it’s me and my allergy to summer plus a terrible round of body dysmorphia I’ve been dealing with for the past few weeks. Seeing pictures from my cousin’s wedding has left me terribly depressed. I know they don’t show what I actually look like but for how dilligent I am about working out, it’s unfair I don’t look better. Then I start guilt tripping myself for being shallow and not appreciating what my body can do amd so on. You guys don’t need to remind me, it’s just my brain hyperfocusing on the negative, but it still leaves me feeling drained and makes me susceptible to binges which only make things worse and ugh, I hate it.
Sorry for being a downer and for such a silly reason too, it’s not like I don’t have other problems in my life, it’s just so easy to hate myself, you know?
I’ve been incorporating more cardio in my routine and while the scales haven’t shifted at all, I am reminded how much I like it. I’ve loved the strength challenges on here but at the end of the day cardio just makes me feel alive, you know? Hope the team starts listening to the many requests for more cardio content but until then I’m doing Burn and really enjoying it. I am loving the all in, minimal explanation style of older videos where a 33 minutes workout is really 33 minutes, and not 25 minutes plus 8 minutes of explaining. If you’re doing a level 4 or 5, you probably don’t need that much hand holding, you know?
Ok, I’ve been a downer, now I’m potentially getting controversial. Will stop here before anyone feels inclined to throw tomatoes at me. I hope whatever your workout or lack thereof, you have a great day and an excellent weekend!
