Hello everyone, welcome to the start of another week. I've been enjoying CK's posts lately, so I thought I would build on yesterday's theme of kindness and share a similar thought:
"When we give ourselves compassion, the tight knot of negative self-judgment starts to dissolve, replaced by a feeling of peaceful, connected acceptance." (Kristin Neff)
This was actually posted to this forum a while ago by Kandice and I squirrelled it away for future use. I love the idea of dissolving the knot -- like a massage working out a knot in your back, or being able to finally relax and let go of the knot in your stomach. So, positive affirmations, self-like, whatever this looks like to you, I hope you will make it a point to be at least as nice, as kind, as understanding to yourself as you would be to someone else.
I'm about to try Kelli's new BE core workout, which I've swapped into my routine today. It's a bit challenging (flutter kicks are probably not in my range of safe exercises at the moment) but I'm ready to modify where necessary. It's a beautiful cool morning, and will be nice to work out with all the windows open, before we button up for the heat wave in a little while. Just hoping we'll get cooler weather next -- *next* week, I have a week's vacation coming up and want to enjoy the outdoors a little!
P.S. Okay here's the other post from CK I was thinking of, really just a silly question. "If you could choose only one emoji to be your avatar, what would it be?" I think mine is 🧑🌾 in summer and 🧑🍳 in winter.
Edited to add today's flower photo: yarrow, which has a very poetic name in French: achillée millefeuille. I posed that other flower next to it to show the subtle pink color.
