Do you and/or your children ever struggle to regulate your emotions? Do you ever want to practice mindfulness or deep breathing with kids in your life but don’t know where to start? If you answered yes to either of these questions, then this practice is for you!
This guided balloon breathing practice combines a visualization technique - imagining a balloon inside your belly that inflates and deflates as you breathe - with deep and slow breathing. This teaches mindfulness as you have to be aware of how your belly is moving in and out as you breathe and also is a relaxation technique that helps us to calm down in moments of stress. I wrote it intentionally to be at a level where kids of most ages 3+ can listen and benefit.
