New Workout! Lower Body Drop Sets

Alright y’all, I’ve got a challenger of a workout coming your way today! Save it for the next time your lower body is feeling fresh and you want to see past a strength plateau or benchmark your performance in key lower body strength training exercises. 

Lower Body Drop Sets

You may remember the Total Body Drop Sets workout, well, this is the lower body version of that! Drop sets are an advanced weight training technique used to increase lean muscle and strength and help you get past plateaus in the amount of weight you're able to lift for an exercise. It involves doing a set close to failure or until form falters, grabbing lighter weights, and doing more repetitions to fully exhaust the muscles. I like that this approach makes it 'you against you' as opposed to you against a timer. Sometimes we need that extra push to get outside of our mental comfort zones and this workout will take you to that headspace! 

If this level 5 workout makes you feel a little hesitant or intimidated I want you to remember that not only are you always in control of your weights and reps, but the routine allows for (and requires) you to use your own motive to fuel your output. As I shared above, it’s you against you, not you against a timer so you won’t be left with feelings of being behind. There’s great autonomy built in so you’re able to periodically come back to this routine to benchmark and check in with your strength and capabilities. Each time you show up to this workout, you can meet yourself where you're at - and that’s right where you’re meant to be! I really had to lean on that notion myself in the workout.
