Question: Foot pain working out *with* shoes

Question for the community: Does anyone else experience severe foot pain when working out *with* shoes? I'm a runner with high arches, so my running shoes are all about stability and support, plus I wear running insoles. When I run or walk, my feet feel fine. However, if I wear my running shoes to do anything with jumping, hopping, or even standing on a hard surface for prolonged periods, the soles of my feet feel like they are on FIRE. I have to stop what I'm doing and literally shake out my feet for the pain to subside. It's so intense that I gave up working out with shoes on a long time ago; I have a very stable, cushioned mat at home that has done wonders for my FB workouts.

That said, I'm curious if anyone else experiences this and has any suggestions. Is it possible my shoes are too supportive for workouts that require a lot of jumping and plyometrics? I have had plantar fasciitis in the past, but the pain I feel when I wear shoes for HIIT isn't PF pain--it encompasses the whole of the sole, not the arch.

Appreciate any insight!
