Who recalls Day 5 (Low-Impact Total Body Power HIIT) of the Tone with Erica 5-Day Challenge? There were noticeable comments from many of you that this was included in your favorite workouts from the challenge. So, I set out to make another workout that was similar to it although this routine today has a totally different format, the exercises are different, and it’s more lengthy.
This workout takes HIIT and throws many twists into it; the addition of dumbbells, details added that test your balance and coordination, high endurance, muscular strength, higher impact exercises, and more. Not to worry, I share low-impact modifications and welcoming reminders throughout to either tone it down or spice it up!
We cruise through a line-up of 33 different exercises in the bored easily format. Most of them will be total body exercises, while some hone in more on the lower or upper body. I use a pair of 18-pound dumbbells the entire way, but you can feel free to use whatever weight selection you’d like depending on the exercise. There’s a section in the write-up where I share different ways you can approach the workout to gain various effects (more muscle building/strength focused, a blend of strength and cardio, or more cardio and toning focused).
There’s no doubt it can be mentally draining and even a little scary to approach a workout like this when there are so many dynamics. In those times when our mind is getting to us a bit, it can be helpful to set an intention for how we want to feel both during and as a result of getting the workout complete. My intentions for you are to feel strong, capable, and empowered. I encourage you to latch onto those intentions as you approach this one!
