Tasha's recently-released post-run core workout has emboldened me to ask for an extended pre-run warm up. I've tagged a few workouts as 'pre-run' but don't think there are any designed specifically for this.
I'd like something about 30 minutes long that does the following:
- loosens up the joints
- activates: glutes, core, postural muscles
- warms up Achilles/calf muscles and feet
- raises heart rate and breathing rate.
Preferably:
- low impact so you're not wearing yourself out before the run
- no equipment so you can do it before setting out to explore a town on foot while on holidays
- waking up the glutes without exhausting them
- not finishing with extended static stretches.
Some workouts I currently have tagged 'pre-run' are:
