This past weekend I did my first hike of the 2023 season and I was not ready 🥵. We started off with a 1,200 ft elevation gain that really tested my cardiovascular system. My muscles did okay thanks to consistent weight lifting, but cardio was a challenge for sure. For context: I like to day hike around 5-8 miles in very hilly areas with 500-1500 ft elevation gain.
