In a few weeks, I'm having some varicose veins ablated (out-patient procedure, minimally invasive). I understand that for a few weeks following the procedure, I won't be permitted to fly, drive for long periods of time, or engage in high-impact activity... all things that I do regularly. And I'm having the procedure done on three veins, in three consecutive weeks, which means I will be under these restrictions for about a month.
I'm curious if anyone else in the community has had their veins ablated, and if so, what physical activity were you able to do safely? I'm assuming things like Pilates, yoga, walking, hiking, and maybe some upper body strength training will be permitted; but for someone who enjoys things like running, HIIT, and total body strength training, how I can continue to maintain my fitness level while switching entirely to low-impact, low(er)-intensity workouts?
Working out post-vein ablation
