Grateful for FB

From the on-camera trainers to the behind-the-scenes staff, I extend to each member of the Fitness Blender team a heartfelt thank you for all that you have done for me and the FB community. I started working out with FB on YouTube in 2014, at the age of 50, and finally joined the FB family in 2015. I have always been active be it through team sports, hiking, running, strength training or group exercise classes. As a woman in her 50s watching her elderly parents and thinking about everything that comes with the privilege of a long life, my goal with FB was to prepare my body for the future and what I might encounter when I am in my 70s, 80s, and 90s. I wanted to improve my core strength to prevent falls and broken bones, build more lean muscle and maintain bone density, and make sure that I will be able to get up from a seated position. Working out with FB has me on track with those goals and made me realize that fitness is about more than just working out. It includes taking care of one’s body in so many other ways - good nutrition, positive self-talk, mobility in addition to strength and flexibility, calming the mind, and taking rest days when your body tells you it needs a break. In other words, self-care.

Last year about this time I decided my New Year’s resolution for 2022 was to improve my self-care and I joined FB Plus as a means to that end. I can honestly say that the access to additional trainers, training styles, physical therapists, and nutrition and mental health experts, and challenges and programs that FB Plus provides has improved my awareness of how I move throughout the day, how I feel from day to day, what I choose to eat, and how I choose to spend my time. I look forward to my workouts, I talk to the trainers (and Jonathon), and I smile and pat myself on the back for showing up for myself and earning that workout complete.
