I just watched the finals of the women's European championships in gymnastics, and I couldn't help but notice the incredible variety of body types.
I really like the mantra "fit comes in all shapes and sizes", and yet I often end up criticising certain parts of my body because they don't look like some weird ideal version that has stuck with me since my days of having an eating disorder and that is SUPER difficult to let go of.
These gymnasts are some of the fittest people on this planet, and no two of them look the same. They are not all skinny, but they are all amazingly strong.
I want to keep this in mind as I continue on my fitness journey and worry about my appearance less, because I am strong, and capable, and apparently this is what that looks like for me.
