If you’re anything like me, gratitude might be something that you have to be intentional about incorporating into your life. If so, and even if it comes naturally to you, being grateful for the things and people in your life can bring you so many mental and physical health benefits that transcend the few moments you put into it. It can help with relationships, stress, inflammation, and sleep to name just a few. The meditation write-up will give you several options for how to incorporate gratitude into your daily life. Be sure to follow along with the guided practice to enhance your sense of gratitude in this moment.
I structured this guided practice to help you to allow you to identify various people and things you are grateful for, including yourself! There is a bonus challenge that will hopefully allow you to stretch your practice of gratitude even toward difficult things/situations in your life. This is a great option to do either first thing in the morning (to set you up for a grateful day) or at the end of the day (to reflect on things that you are grateful for that happened today). It is my hope that you can use this as one more tool in your wellness toolbelt and can pull it out as needed. As always, the more you engage in a practice (emphasis intended) like this, the more you flex that gratitude muscle, the easier it will become. Eventually, you may find yourself spontaneously taking stock of all you are grateful for!
