Hello my cute little brussel sprouts! I hope you're all doing moderately ok today. Aiming for something higher seems daring, and sometimes all we can hope for is to get off Escher's staircase that is descending into another circle of hell. As for me, I'm ok but am rather under slept, and am chronically unable to spell 'brussel sprouts' without the red squiggly line getting out its stick and whacking me over the knuckles. According to google, the correct spelling is actually "Brussels sprouts", after the city, but 77% of people (in the UK?) incorrectly drop the s. Including me. I've never heard anyone pronounce it that way.
Well, I had some more countryside photos to share along with a natural history lesson, but luckily for you all my phone has finally carked it. No more photos. Or texts or calls. Or alarms. Or GPS. Or doing the crossword in bed. Or anything else. I have to go buy a new one tomorrow and I'm not looking forward to it. Partly because I don't wanna fork out for a new phone, and partly because phone shopping is not exactly my idea of a good time. I absolutely hate, and I do mean hate, going into large shopping centres. I've also only ever purchased a phone once, when I moved to university. It cost $6, plugged into the wall, and had no caller ID or answering machine. Every other phone I've had I got used from someone. This one I got from my housemate; she's since upgraded her phone at least 3 times. The one before that came from my ex's brother's girlfriend's sister's then-boyfriend. Who cares, it was free. Clearly I am not someone who rushes out to get the latest technology, and personally I'd like to go back to the good old days of 1998 when we didn't live in front of screens and weren't trackable at all times. Then again, I do like the lady who lives in the map who tells me when to turn. Texting is nice too, because then you don't have to actually speak to anyone. Although when people first started texting I thought it was rather cold and impersonal and why wouldn't you want to speak to each other? How do you feel about mobile phones and technology generally? Are you anxious to leave the house without one? Will we all be cyborgs soon, devoid of emotion? Sometimes I think that wouldn't be too bad an option.
Well folks, we'd better not forget about the point of all this. Canada Day! Are you pouring maple syrup over your heads and slathering your bodies in bacon? Are you going off to chase moose with hockey sticks and trap beavers in flannel shirts? I hope you are. I know that's how I spent my afternoon. Oh, and exercise! Is it happening? Are you enjoying it? And food! Is it happening? Are you enjoying? Deets please! I didn't get in my workout last night, and as of a couple of hours ago became the proud owner of a new, non-vomit covered exercise mat. So I'll be making use of that later, but first I need a little nap. As for dinner, I have plenty of leftovers. Or if you'd prefer to talk about something entirely different that's fine too. But please talk amongst yourselves, because when I volunteered for Fridays I sorta forgot that I'm not usually around on Saturdays to reply. I'll get back to you, but it might not be real speedy. Silly timezones.

Ok, that's it from me. Have an easy day everyone!
