New FB Plus Workout: Fiery 15-Minute Total Body Power Yoga

Okay. . . yes, technically this video is over 15 minutes . . . BUT that is only because of the brief, optional cool-down + savasana, as well as the intro/outro. The fiery part of the practice is ONLY 15 minutes, I pinky promise! So can we still be friends. . .? :-)

Fiery 15-Minute Total Body Power Yoga

This fire-packed power practice moves fast! All-levels are welcome to give this a try, but please note that due to the fast pace of this video, I don’t offer any modifications throughout the practice; please reference the video write-up for modification suggestions, or feel free to come up with your own!

While I encourage you to breathe through discomfort, if you experience any pain or have any injuries that might prevent you from using proper technique, please take a modification or skip the move altogether.

Workout Suggestions:

  • If you’re looking for a longer cool-down, feel free to pause the video and/or take any additional stretches your body calls for; you may want to take a longer savasana as well.
  • If you fall out of a posture (the balancing portion can really make the stabilizer muscles in your ankle burn), shake out the standing leg and then come right back in! The practice isn’t meant to be perfect; shakes, wobbles, and falling out of the postures are welcome, because that means your body is getting stronger!
  • Ujjayi breath is optional (as always) and a great way to further intensify this challenge; however, it may feel inaccessible at times. I suggest using ujjayi at the beginning of your practice to help build that internal heat, as well as during the mini “breaks” (like when we take a brief forward fold). Using ujjayi during these slight pauses can help you to regulate your breath rate, heart rate, and nervous system.
  • Scream, laugh, smile (anything that resonates with you) when you’re playing your edge! This doesn’t have to be serious, so I invite you to make this practice as playful and as joyful as you want it to be!

I hope you enjoy this workout and that it challenges you in a way that leaves you feeling strong, empowered, and maybe a little tired ;-) I had a blast filming this practice, even though I definitely felt out of breath and like I wanted to quit at certain times. My practice is far from perfect, but I showed up, gave my best effort, and allowed that to be enough; I hope that you know whatever your best effort is, in this moment, is more than enough as well.
