I built this workout off of an exact framework that I use when I know I want a spicy, effective strength workout in a short amount of time. In under 24 minutes, we cover a warm up and glute activation series, a fast round of 2 set strength training that targets the lower body and glute muscles from multiple angles, and a cool down and stretch. I love the kind of lifting that ends up feeling like a cardio challenge as well, and this one definitely left me huffing and puffing. I will definitely come back to this workout, and I hope it meets your needs as well.
This routine left me nice and sore afterwards. I would love to know what you thought about this workout, and please let me know what I can film next that might be helpful to you!
On a personal note, last week I finished the new 4 Week Fit 30 Program (FB Fit & FB 30 all in one). If you need any proof, support, or encouragement to tackle a workout program at your own pace, I’ll happily point out that it took me around 7 weeks to complete the 4 weeks. And I feel really proud of following through and finishing it. My motivation has been hit or miss and honestly I’ve just been enjoying working outside and in/on my garden. The thing is, I know that if I start to skip too many structured, intentional workouts, I won't be able to do my other favorite activities without a higher chance of general aches/pains, strains, or full on injury or the reappearance of an old injury. My commitment to my workouts largely comes from wanting to be able to live pain free, and at no time is that more true than in the summer, when I’m playing, digging, weeding, planting, pulling, pushing, balancing and lifting “in the wild”, i.e. not in the controlled space of an intentional workout.
My whole house is a jungle right now - even more than usual, as I have all of these plant starts that I’m waiting to rehome in our garden. Each day I cart them outside in order to allow them to gradually adjust to the sun’s rays and the outside elements, and then back in at the end of the day. We’ve had an unusually cold spring so far; we’ve had snow in April and we’ve been a reliable 5-10 degrees under the average temps we’re supposed to see, day and night. So for now, all of my garden is waiting to be planted and I am waiting for a bit of warmth myself. I’ll happily update you on that adventure as we’re able to start planting our garden and growing our own food!
I hope your week is off to a great start! If you’ve made it this far, thanks for reading my ramble, and thanks for working out with us :)
