Perspiration Pals Monday February 14th 💌🍫

Hiya PPals and welcome to your Valentine's Day Monday edition of the thread.

I was doing a little googling on the origins of today's holiday, and, sheesh, the dark history behind what's become a cutesie Hallmark holiday could give Samhain a run for it's money. Some believe the day was named after a priest in the 3rd century who defied the Emperor's ban on marriage and was subsequently executed. The roots of the holiday can be traced farther back to an ancient Roman festival, Lupercalia, which involved animal sacrifice and slapping women with animal hides to boost fertility. Romantic right?

Luckily, what the day means now for a lot of us is, most importantly, chocolate 🍫. How about it then, anyone treating themselves or being treated to some chocolatey goodness today? And since I guess most people don't consider chocolate a meal in itself, how else will you be filling in your menu for the day?

Now let's talk about that other symbol of V-day, the ❤. Unlike our patchwork friend above, we don't need grave robbery to keep us young at heart, we have Fitness Blender. So what are you doing for your heart today? Will you get it pumping overtime with some HIIT, cardio, or sweaty strength supersets, or is it a day to treat it to some gentler Pilates, yoga or rest? I'm on my last day of isolation and will be starting the Mobility Challenge. I've also entered a dangerous phase of having too much time on my hands - online shopping 😳. So I'll be spending today trying not to spend any more $$!

Remember anyone is welcome to pop in here. Wishing you all a good week ahead.
