Last workout of 2021, last day of Full Fusion

Good morning!!

At 5 AM on a dark and snowy PNW morning, I finished my last workout of the Full Fusion Challenge (🥳) and probably my last workout of 2021 (🥳🥳).

Here’s what’s happening in my little photo collage; picture 1 is me fully bundled up at the beginning of the workout. We are still having very cold temperatures and we’re struggling to keep the place warm - it was under 60° in our downstairs! For me, this is basically freezing 😅 Picture 2 is ~30 minutes into having my butt kicked by Tasha. I loved that last workout - well done Tasha, on the entire challenge. Picture 3 is what happens when you get dressed in the dark, and picture 4 is the snow rapidly re-piling up this morning on my water break (those are my raised lettuce beds, under all of that snow!).

2021 was another wild, challenging year. I’m not sure that it was any less wild than 2020, to be honest. In the coming year, I’m going to do everything that I can to be mindful of the variables that are within my control, to make it the best year that I can. I’m planning on doing some journaling later to think about what that might look like for me. Do you journal? Or free write? I do it a lot and I highly recommend it for both mental and physical health. You don’t have to be a good writer, and you don’t have to share it with anyone. Honestly, I often end up ripping up or even burning what I’ve written – it has a very therapeutic impact, either way.

I hope that you take a minute before the end of the year to celebrate yourself. Give yourself a hug. Maybe think of something kind that you can do for yourself or someone else in the new year, to get off on the right foot. If you’re interested in setting some healthy goals to focus on in the new year, I highly recommend this article by Haley, PhD, Licensed Psychologist: 4 Ways to Manage Perfectionism - I definitely sometimes fall into the perfectionist trap myself, and I think it's one of the biggest blocks to reaching any kind of goal. Progress, action, baby steps, are all great; no need for perfection!

FB Strong is launching this Sunday! I’m starting it Monday and I can’t wait. After that Full Fusion Challenge, I.Am.Ready. Let’s go!!

Be safe this weekend and I will see you all bright and early Sunday morning for the new FB Strong launch, and again Monday morning for a tough lower body + HIIT workout - don’t miss it!
