With a several day delay for the holidays, today was the last day of the 2 Week Burn Challenge, other than the optional day of stretching.
From the name "Burn," the dreaded anticipation was that this might be too heavily HIIT/cardio focused. So, it was a very pleasant surprise to discover that this challenge is mostly strength-training focused w/ only 3 integrated HIIT workouts and 2 optional cardio/HIIT ECs.
Day 1 - LB strength + optional cardio (54 min w/ EC)
Day 2 - UB strength - supersets + optional UB burnout (48 min w/ EC)
Day 3 - Core & HIIT cardio (39 min)
Day 4 - UB strength - BE format (40 min)
Day 5 - LB strength - mass-building + optional Core strength (43 min w/ EC)
Day 6 - optional stretching (31 min)
Day 7 - rest day
Day 8 - UB strength + optional posture (55 min w/ EC)
Day 9 - LB strength & HIIT cardio (49 min)
Day 10 - Core strength + optional HIIT or optional cardio (49 min w/ EC)
Day 11 - UB strength & HIIT (45 min)
Day 12 - LB strength + optional LB Pilates burnout (54 min w/ EC)
Day 13 - optional stretching (32 min)
The workouts averaged 37 min in length, with a few at just under 50 min long, not including ECs, making it a bit more challenging to fit into a busy schedule, especially w/ the holidays.
The variety and interesting combinations of workouts and styles made this challenge one of the more interesting of the ones done, and it motivated the purchase of the 4-week Burn program. So far, this and the Mass challenge are the overall favorites of the 2-week challenges completed to date, and both seem to have produced the best results out of the 2-week challenges. Overall, this was a great challenge and is definitely worth repeating!
