Yesterday "In the kitchen" - Weekend Recap 12-6-21

Happy Monday everyone.

Well, if there is such a thing. Starting out slow motion this morning. The weekend was semi-busy with cooler weather and the chores that come with it. The kitchen was hot though. Friday night was going to be turkey burger stroganoff with plenty of mushrooms (image above). Well, no mushrooms in the frig. We thought we had another pound in the drawer, but, nope. No shrooms. So I did the next best thing. Found a 1/4 cup of dried crimini and ground them up in the little bullet blender. So some flavor got in there. Broccoli and white onion came to the party though.

Saturday: was Storm's recipe of stuffed and baked butternut squash. Stuffing was Sweet Maui sausage with sage, onion, garlic, small amount of bread crumbs, an egg, and a bit of Monterey Jack cheese. It was really good.

Sunday: Sourdough use time. So pizza. Not just any pizza. A pizza with purple basil pesto, red onion, sauerkrat, bacon, and roasted red yam. Very yummy and really filling. Desert was Magic bars with roasted peanuts instead of walnuts. I liked it better with peanuts.

So what did you have going on "In the Kitchen" this weekend? Show us your fabulous dishes. Or maybe there were so great looking failures. Post and let us all share. Have a blessed and properous day!
