After several unplanned delays and subsequent rescheduling, Day 1 of the 2 week Mass Challenge is finally complete! :)
The traditional strength training UB split workout with Daniel was a doozy - it's rated as 3/5, but the arms beg to differ with that rating, and have voted for it to be rated 6/5 instead! ;)
Even if one isn't lifting crazy heavy weights, it's at the very least 4/5, more like 5/5 by the end b/c of the burnout style and high volume. You know it's definitely a much more challenging workout when Daniel drops the slugs out of the handles and stops to shake out his arms several times. :) Lifting those jellified arms to feed oneself post-workout was definitely a challenge too, lol! ;)
This challenge's format is a bit different to others in that the UB gets worked 3xs in the 1st week while LB + Core (EC) + HIIT make up the other 2 days. It's quite a nice change to the usual 2 LB + 2 UB + 1 Core format, especially with Core and UB getting an extra workout each, squeezing a bit more into the 5 days than usual by combining LB with Core. The efficiency of this approach is much appreciated by those who can't workout 6xs/week. :)
Looking forward to tomorrow's LB+HIIT+Core workout combo, and feeling glad for a barbell for LB so as to go easier on the noodle arms tomorrow! ;)
