Hope your day is going or went well. Yeterday was a glutinous holiday for most in the US. Hopefully those that celebrated didn't over do it. Such a strange food tradition we have here. Anyway, a slow, literaly, day in the kitchen yesterday. I made turkey noodle soup to stay some what in the traditional food theme.
We roasted a turkey a week or so ago. I use the back and some bones and simmered them for 6 hours with a little carrot, white onion, celery, and seasonings. Then pulled it and deboned. Returned to the stove and added 5 carrots, the rest of a large white onion, 4 stalks of celery, some poultry seasoning, parsely, black pepper, and some smoked sea salt. Cooked another 2 hours on a simmer. Then added 8 oz of spagettii noodles broken into about 1' pieces. Stirred those in and let it simmer another 40 mins on low heat.
It turned out great. Had enough for a large container for the freezer and another meal or so. What did you have going on "In the Kitchen" yesterday? Colder weather is coming in all around the Northern Hemisphere. Are you starting to break out winter recipes?
