Yesterday "In the Kitchen" - Weekend Recap 10/11/21
Good day FB Family.
Hope your weekends went well. This weekend flew by and was busy for us. Weather changing, wood cookstove going again, Fall is definitely here for us.
Friday night Storm made scallop potatoes with Spicy Maui sausage, red cabbage, red onion, garlic, carrots, and some greens. Very tasty and just what the cool evenings ordered. Saturday: Storm made Borscht. We love this dish of beet, carrot, onion, celery, potato, red cabbage (this time; usually green), tomato, and stock. Very tasty and hearty soup. Served with a small loaf of sourdough I made (brushed butter on it while still warm that's why its shiny).
Sunday was processing apple day. We made 17 pints of apple sauce and started a crock of ACV (apple cider vinegar). For lunch was leftover bread toasted with a quick saute of pineapple tomato, red onion, garlic, bell pepper. Topped with melted Havarti cheese and some avocado slices. Dinner was leftover Borscht and some fresh sourdough pitas I made.
How did your weekend go "In the Kitchen?" Anything special? Friends or family? Share both your successes and failures. We all learn from each other. Have a blessed and prosperous day!
P.S. Diane, hope your Thanksgiving went well. That goes out to all our Canadian FB Family.
